Taking the Tungsten Ring Plunge

I have been in a long lasting relationship with my girlfriend and we are ready to move to the next step, engagement. We talk about it all the time but I don’t think my girlfriend is expecting me to propose so early. Since she has a year left of school we talked about waiting till she’s done to take the plunge, but what she doesn’t know, is that I’m planning on proposing soon.

With all this engagement and proposal on the brain I got to wondering what type of ring I would enjoy. I have been worrying so much about her ring that I haven’t thought about myself at all. After online browsing I found a ring that is so unique. I have never seen such a thing and am wondering if it is to risky of a ring to wear for my wedding band? With black manly details and tungsten metal quality I think it’s just right. I would enjoy a second opinion…what do you all think?

Linear Actuators–Simple Yet Important

Last week I blogged about a project I was doing for school and about Ball Splines. Well it seems this week we have now incorporated Linear Actuators into the mix. Our project is becoming a lot more complicated and demanding than I originally thought it would be. I’m not complaining because I know this is how the real world will be and I might as well get the practice in now.

Anyways, linear actuators are basically in everything we use, from drawers, to elevators. We may not think of the items needed to work these everyday items but they are there, and they are important. Linear Actuators are interesting to learn about because there are so many different kinds of them: profile rail, round rail, sliding elements, short travel and a lot more (but I don’t want to bore you). Our professor guided us to buy these parts from SMI4Motion, and yes we had to pay for our own stuff! Luckily nothing has been that ridiculous in price and we have learned a lot of info just from the manufacturer themselves about these items.

Pick Up Accessories

I gave my boyfriend for his birthday accessories for his pickup. He already had seat covers and a steering wheel cover, but they needed to be replaces desperately. He had duct tape on half of the seat, and his steering wheel cover had holes in it and was falling apart. I put them in his pickup the morning before he left for work, and he didn’t even notice till he got home that night for supper.

When he finally did notice though, he loved them and was happy to have some new accessories in there. They look really good and I love them. No when I wear shorts, I don’t get duct tape stuck on me.  This is a great idea for any guy. Dress up dad’s vehicle or give it to your boyfriend. Any guy will like them. It just adds an extra pop to their vehicle. Father’s day is coming up next month, and if your looking for ideas, this is a great one.

Grass Charging Station

My boyfriend found this charging  station online and he just had to get it.He makes fun of me for having plants in our apartment, and why not just leave them outside, cause they die anyway. He says now we have grass in the house that will never die. It’s funny to have in on the kitchen counter, and when your friends come over, your phone is just sitting in the “grass.” They always question, “Why is your phone in the plants?’

All you have to do, is plug one cable into the bottom of the base, and then just plug in all your electronic devices through the grass and It works pretty well actually. It beats having all of your phone cables lying around all them time and getting in the way. Less hassle and less mess. It’s really genius. Now instead of using the wrong charger, or tangling all your chargers up, you hide all of the cords, and you can do it in a sylish, funny way.

Great Massaging Sit-Up Pillow

Talk about the perfect pregnancy gift. My husband just gave me this and I just love it. When I’ve had a long day I just come home set this massaging pillow up and rest my body. It is amazing. If you are a person who has alot of stress, or even pregnant this is great.

Since I’m pregnant, I get uncomfortable while laying down the whole time, so with this I can just sit up and watch TV comfortably or read a book. It is the perfect massager and it can de-stress me and take away my aches and pains in my lower back. My husband also likes to use it before he goes to bed. It’s so comfortable and I love it.

Funny Gifts

This is a random and funny gift. It’s a glow in the dark crowbar. I mean really why would anyone need this but I thought it was really cool. I have never seen anything like it and it’s unique. My boyfriend is always getting me random funny gifts, but I can still get use out of them. He is going to laugh so hard when he sees this.

He will be able to use it, on what, I don’t know yet, but he can still use it. It’s just really unique and I love gifts like that. Of course, I will make him a nice supper, but you always gotta have something up your sleeve for a good laugh.

Gift To A Grandparent or Parent

This is just a great gift to a grandparent or a parent. It’s a cute picture frame that reads such an amazing quote, “There is no greater love than the love shared between generations.” It’s so true and I got this for my parents and one for my in-laws. I put a picture of my kids, their grandkids, then I put a picture of me and my husband and then I put a picture of all of us together, including them.

It’s such a great gift to give. Pictures speak so much more than words, and the memories are great to have around the house. Having these photos, is just like us being there when we cant be. I love this idea and I am a sucker for photos and picture frames.

Groomsmen Gifts

This is what my husband picked out for a gift to each of his groomsmen. At first I thought he was joking and then he explained to me at how his buddies are going to love it. I think it’s a funny gift and they will probably all get very good use of it.

They are personalized stainless steel flasks, and they are actually really nice looking. He got all ten of his groomsmen, yes I said ten groomsmen, this flask and when they finally got them, they loved them! It’s amazing how easy it is to entertain men. I love it and I am glad that my husband picked out a great gift for them. We had a huge wedding and I thought it was going to be hard to find a decent priced gift for everyone in it. Surprisingly we didn’t spend to much money on gifts, and still found something that they would get use out of and meant something too.

Retirement Party Ideas

This is such a great gift for anyone who is retiring. Any co-workers, friends, and family can sign the mat frame and then you can hang it up. This was at my boss’s party and I thought it was such a great idea. A nice picture of him and his wife was in the frame and It already had a bunch of signatures.

My dad is going to be retiring soon, and I am thinking about using this at his party. It’s a great memory keeper. You can remember the people that worked with you and just remember all the hardworking times. I think having a retirement party is a great idea for anyone. A last ‘hoorah’ before your next journey in life.

Funny BUT Useful Gifts

This was a gift for my boyfriend. I thought it was so funny, yet very useful for him. He will only drink out of a glass bottle, so at home if he’s outside or with the boys sometimes it’s hard to find a bottle opener. He has his phone every where and right when I saw this I got it for him. Now no matter where he is he can find a bottle opener.It fits perfectly on his iPhone and he loves it.

When he opened it up he just started to laugh and was really grateful for it too. He showed his buddies right away and they all want me to get them one too. He likes to show off sometimes, but I’m glad he liked it. Later on, for his father’s birthday, I bought him one too and he just loved it. It’s a funny gift but yet you know it will get used sooner or later.
